Anna's off to Middle School

She has had her last day of elementary school, she's made her final walk and hugged her teachers goodbye. Anna doesn't show emotions in public so there were no tears from her and only a few from me :). She has her 6th grade course list and now we enjoy the summer!!!

Owen's Haircut

Owen wanted to look just like his daddy so he got his first buzz cut. He loves his dad, if Ben is doing something he wants to do it too. He probably knows more about the new (old) tractor than I do, and after they complete any job he has to make sure I check it out and praise their work. He wants tools his size to do just what Ben does. This kid tests all the limits and tips us over the edge every day sometimes every hour, but he also tells us "I love you, mommy, or I love you, daddy" at least ten times a day. He makes me crazy and he makes me smile, but if he turns out anything similar to his oldest brother in 8 years then we're good because I remember incredibly difficult days with Beau and sometimes I can't believe the funny, respectful, social, well-adjusted adolescent he has become.

Luke Promotes to Third Grade

We loved Luke's teacher this year and she loved him. His report card said he was outstanding in everything, his candy bar award was nerds because he was intelligent and worked hard. He couldn't have had a better year. He was challenged and rose to meet it. He began to love reading and has almost mastered his multiplication tables. Making stop-action films was one of his favorite activities, you can go to the link below to watch the class videos, Luke's is the great squirrel chase. http://mysite.cherokee.k12.ga.us/personal/denna_vance/site/pages/Class%20Movies.aspx

Oh Summertime

One night after school last week the kids turned on the hose to water the garden and ended up in their swimsuits playing water tag. They finished off the evening with impromptu dinner on the porch. I think I caught Luke off guard.
