A Lot of Figs

I went fig picking, Bens uncle Phil and Aunt Patti have lots of fig trees, not something people in the northern states are real familiar with. So when I talk to anyone from home I have to repeat myself multiple times and finally say you know like fig newtons. Figs are a delicious fruit full of fiber and potassium. Fresh figs with goat cheese and honey, yum! With this many figs I made my first jam, and canned for the first time. I have the filling and dough made for fig newtons just have to put them together and back them. Only about five more pounds to do something with and then I will have to go pick more. Don't want them to go to the birds :)

Bountiful Harvest

We picked a few items from the pasture the other day. We have lots of watermelon but its perfect for packing in school lunches.

Owen Does School Too

Owen is very bummed he's not going to school, but we are doing things at home. Today he worked on cutting and patterns, he amazes me what he knows. He also learned to use the mouse this week which opened a whole new exploration of preschool games on the web. He is keeping me very busy. Plus he thinks he is big stuff when he clips on the iPod and headphones.

First Day of School

Monday was the first day of school we are slowly getting into the groove but we are all really tired.
