Decorating Pumpkin Sugar Cookies

Because there isn't enough sugar involved with Halloween, I made the kids sugar cookies with pumpkin cookie cutters and they got to decorate those yesterday too. Mandy, Erin and Great Grandma came to enjoy the activities with us and Erin chose to use the green frosting on her pumpkin, Luke was unable to understand this decision thus the funny look on his face.

Ben enjoying his cookie before we called the kids in. He rarely partakes in the desserts I back so I really enjoy when he loves what I make. He particularly likes my frosting, although he made this batch colored it and everything. It was a little thin for my preferences, but I didn't tell him that and he won't know unless he reads this which may or may not happen. It still tasted delicious and I was sure to have plenty.

Beau enjoying his first bite.

Erin and her green cookie, she was fun to watch.

Proof that Great Grandma was there.
The lighting in these pictures is terrible and I didn't take the time to edit them, but its the memories that matter, and this weekend was full of making memories.

Carving Owen's Pumpkin

Convincing Owen to reach in the pumpkin.

Getting a little closer to that stuff.

Mom, are they crazy?

Here he goes.

No way, that's cold and yucky.

He ended up watching and didn't help at all. But Ben and Anna enjoyed making him a crazy pumpkin. I loved watching it all, such a great daddy and such fun kids.

The Jack-o-Lanterns

Last year we bought a clearance pumpkin carving kit.

So Anna chose the cat.

Owen's was a collaboration of Anna Ben and Owen.
We decide he was a drunk pumpkin,
and Beau's comment was, "that's how Owen will look in 20 years"
I sure hope not but it was kind of a humorous comment.Luke chose a fun smiley face.

Beau chose a wolf which I ended up doing most of (all) the work for.
When I was finished he decided it wasn't as good as the picture, guess he'll be doing all his own work next year.

We had fun.

Daddy Feed Me

When Owen wants to eat, he lets us know.
He gets his plate and spoon out of the cupboard and drawer and stands by the stove waiting.
Today Ben was making him an egg.

Phone Snapshots

Saturday after a wonderful afternoon at Grandmas we went home and had a campfire.

Owen watches everyone else and loves to sneak into this chair,
but I'm afraid of what he might do.

Anna right after her haircut, so cute.
