Spelunking

The kids loved the cave tour they went on, they went through small passage ways even army crawling through the Wormhole. They saw a lot more than we did in our family tour the day before. They even saw a bat.

Hiking with the Kids

While Ben worked at Mammoth Cave the kids and I explored. We had a great time. Owen also rode his first bus on the way to the cave tour. We were only there one night but we fit in a lot of walking and exploring. The kids did great hiking, even Owen walked most of the trails.

Traverse City Historic Center/Lego Carnival

We found a Lego carnival on vacation. The kids built cars and saw many Lego creations. There was also a 2000 lbs cherry pits pit that the kids dug in and played in Owen loved it. Anna modeled the animal skins for us.

Beau's car, it looked cool.

Anna in the bobcat skin...ewwww!

Who Needs Water Slides

We had a great trip to Mammoth Caves. The big kids had a fantastic time on a spelunking tour for kids only. We also hiked to a spring that turned into a mudslide thanks to some imagination and a dad willing to get muddy with them.

My Kids

These kids are growing and changing all the time. They make me laugh everyday but not always intentionally.

Anna's New Look

Last week Anna looked like this, adorable, hair always slightly undone, but there was
a purpose in keeping it long.
I encouraged her to cut it many times in the past two years,
as tears ran down her cheeks while I brushed through the major snarls.
But she refused, she had a mission and she was determined.
Her heart is bigger than her pain, and now she has a new look.
It's short, really short. If you ask Anna, she will just tell you she got a haircut,
a much overdo haircut. She doesn't share the reason unless I really push her to,
she didn't do it for the acknowlegement she did it for those who can't.
She made it to that elusive 10" mark and she donated her hair to L*cks of Love,
but she barely made it thus the reason it is so short, but she was willing.
Her Bama, my mom took her to get it done,
she never looked back,
she loves her new haircut,
and she shines from the inside out
because her heart is willing.
I love this little girl more than words can ever say.
For a while now, Anna and I have our own thing...
when I tuck her in and as I'm walking out of the room I say "I love you."
She replies, "I love you more"
I say "I love you to the moon"
She says "I love you to heaven"
Wherein I concede that she has won and she always giggles.
It is one of my mom moments that I will hold onto to the other side of heaven.
I love you Beautiful Girl!

Owen catches a Lizard

It's a beautiful day, so Owen and I are outside. He caught his first lizard today and it was so fun to watch.

In the video above, he catches it for the first time and kind of panics and throws it, the second video below, he chases it down and recaptures it. The lizard got to swing and fly around on his thumb, and somehow it survived all its adventures.
